About The Role

We are presently seeking to recruit a Site Manager, with either a Earthworks or Works Delivery focus, to be based from our Folkestone office for our Kent & Sussex region. The works entail structure refurbishment, bridge replacement, steel repairs and bridge strengthening and general maintenance to the rail infrastructure.

 

Reporting to a Project Manager, duties include but are not limited to-

  • Controlling safety, quality & environmental activities
  • Site Supervision
  • Delivery of works to programme & budget
  • Producing Health & Safety plans & Work Package Plans
  • Writing Risk Assessments
  • Temporary Works
  • Pre-start site inspections
  • Planning (including road closures and possessions)
  • Tool box talks & HSEQ briefings
  • Providing plant & materials
  • Client liaison

 

What we are looking for

  • Experience and knowledge in delivery of minor civils or earthworks portfolio
  • Understanding of PC CDM duties
  • Maintaining a good working relationship with Network Rail site management teams
  • Experience and knowledge of excavations and temporary works
  • knowledge of Network Rail standards
  • Be able to manage a site delivery team
  • Produce progress reports

 

Qualifications

 

  • Formal qualification in Civil Engineering HNC in Civil Engineering (minimum)
  • Recognised site safety management course for example Construction Skills Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Managing Safely in Construction or equivalent
  • Recognised risk assessment training
  • Knowledge of the requirements of Safety/Environmental Legislation and Railway Group /Network Rail Standards.
  • Commitment to the highest practicable standards of health and safety and environmental protection
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • COSS or IWA Training as appropriate.
  • PTS Certification.
