About The Role
We are currently looking to recruit an Electrical Mate to join our Rail Division based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

The successful applicant will be working in one and two-person teams on our Reactive & PPM maintenance contract across the region, which we are proud to have held for 18 years.

You will undertake electrical works in various commercial and industrial environments, the majority of which will be within the railway environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake electrical works when requested by a Lead Engineer, Qualifying Supervisor or nominated Project Lead as described in a Works Package Plan and Task Briefing and demonstrate sound knowledge and practical skills.
  • Undertake fault finding, and Test and Inspection works if appropriately qualified.
  • Contribute to planning work methods, resources, teams & systems to meet reactive maintenance contract requirements.
  • Liaise with Help Desk ensuring real time information is relayed regularly with regards to progress, technical issues and solutions
  • Ensure that weekly timesheet and expense claim forms are completed accurately and approved accordingly which must be submitted to Head Office on a weekly basis for processing.
  • Establish and oversee procurement of materials.
  • Populate & validate NICEIC documentation – Electrical Conditioning Reports, Minor works Certificates and Schedule of Tests.
  • Deliver Tool Box Talks to small teams of Operatives on site and record as required

Qualifications:

  • Current ECS card showing relevant grade
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) would be advantageous however full training will be given to the successful candidate.
  • C&G 2365 or previous C&G 2330
  • Level 3 in Electrical Installations BS7671:2018 (18th Edition)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of electrical principles
  • Ability to work within tight time constants
  • Proven track record of electrical work including fault finding, installation, test & inspection.
  • Work well in a team environment
