Due to a number of contract wins and future growth plans we are  looking expand our Commercial Team and to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager for tenders and Term Service contracts within the Home Counties

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing the contract commercial team including line management and personal development plans
  • Review proposed Identify unacceptable terms and conditions and negotiate contracts with clients and supply chain
  • Identification of unacceptable wording in bonds, warranties and other guarantees
  • Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.
  • Cost and value management for project
  • Change management for project Contract Administration – ensuring all required notices are issued in a timely manner.
  • Risk and opportunity management for project
  • Managing Supply Chain across typically 25 workstream packages
  • Procurement for project, coordinating with the Procurement Team
  • Identification, preparation and negotiation of claims and Assisting with dispute resolution
  • Advise insurers of claims and assist with negotiations
  • Liaison with Project Director, Client and its team, and Milestone Management

Essential Skills:

  • A comprehensive level of commercial experience preferably with a contracting organisation.
  • A recognised qualification in a construction related subject
  • Preferably qualified to ICES or RICS accreditation
  • Financially astute
  • Relevant CSCS Card
  • Prior experience of running £20m plus Term Service Contract – high volume, low value Task Orders
  • NEC 3 or 4 Term Service Contract - Options A, C and E
  • Understand the contractual requirements of project documents including the roles and responsibilities of all involved and the notices required to record change etc.
  • Strong communicator, collaborator capable of building effective working relationships
