Milestone Infrastructure’s Projects Division is looking for a dynamic and engaging Social Value Manager to lead and deliver the Sector’s Social Value Plan. Working across our main operational regions in the South, East Anglia and the North this role will work closely with an extensive client base (including local authorities and National Highways) to create a positive legacy for the communities, economies, and environments where we work.
Your role will involve working closely with key contract stakeholders including client, local Councillors, members of the public, local businesses, and charities. You will ensure we deliver against each contract’s aim of ensuring high quality infrastructure is delivered for the benefit of the residents, businesses, and highways users.
This will be a hybrid role, with the expectation to be on-site or in the office at least 3 days a week including travel across the country where needed.
The responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Director responsible for Social Value, you will operate across the Projects Sector with delegated responsibility to deliver proactive and reactive communication with key stakeholders, support the delivery of the Sectors Social Value Plan, and work to improve the perception of the service. Your key responsibilities within this role will include:
- Lead the creation and delivery of the Sectors Social Value Plan by working with project teams, local charities, groups and organisations to identify opportunities to deliver additional benefits to communities in which we operate that go beyond simply the contract requirements;
- Supporting the delivery of localised Stakeholder Liaison and Social Value Plans;
- Lead on the Sector’s bidding activity with regards to Milestone’s Social Value offering;
- Support in the delivery of sector wide initiatives; including annual celebration events, the ‘It Starts With Me’ culture, and service improvement plans;
- Supporting the delivery of internal and external communications for the Projects Sector;
- Contribute to wider Milestone Social Value initiatives as required.
The requirements
- Experience of working successfully within a public facing environment
- A proven ability to deliver against agreed action plans and improvement programmes
- Effective influencing skills
- A proven ability to handle complaints with consideration and compassion while taking a practical approach to resolution management
- An understanding of the contemporary issues within highway maintenance would be desirable
- Experience in social value or corporate social responsibility
