Milestone Infrastructure Services is currently looking to recruit a Highways Electrician to work on our Peterborough Highway Services contract in Peterborough.
As the Highways Electrician you will be part of our Street Lighting team who are responsible for highway electrical fault rectification, structural and electrical testing, electrical installation of columns and feeder pillars and also emergency response
Our Street Lighting operations team, working in partnership with Peterborough Council in Peterborough are seeking a Highways Electrician to work on the Peterborough network.
Milestone Infrastructure will fast track NRSWA (New Roads and Street Works) training for successful candidates.
As the Highways Electrician your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Working as part of the operations team undertaking various duties including excavation works, laying cable, Installation of street lighting equipment, including feeder pillar installation and termination, electrically testing to BS7671 and defect reporting.
- Ensuring that reasonable care is taken at all times for the health, safety and welfare of own and other persons and to comply with all local and statutory Health & Safety procedures
- Operating small plant and testing equipment used in highway maintenance with guidance from Site Supervisor
- Installing traffic management under instruction in accordance with method statements with guidance from Site Supervisor
- Participating in an out of hours emergency call out system covering the Peterborough Highway Services network
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Experience of working on the highways
- Previous street lighting experience preferred
- Work as part of a team
- Be prepared to work unsociable hours as required
- Level 2 Electrical Qualification or Equivalent
Additional Information
- You must possess a high degree of manual dexterity demonstrated through the use of hand tools.
- You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground.
- You must also be able to work within a confined space, without restriction.
