Milestone Infrastructure is currently looking to recruit Street Lighting Installation Operative to work on our Street Lighting contract in Thurrock.
As a Street Lighting Installation Operative you will be part of our Street Lighting Team who are responsible for maintenance of all Street Lighting assets within the Thurrock and Redbridge contracts
As the Street Lighting Installation Operative your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Installation of street lighting equipment
- To improve the existing network by undertaking installation of new units
- To realign or remove damaged or obsolete lighting units
- To install traffic management in accordance with chapter 8 safety at street works and road works (Red Book)
- To ensure that work undertaken is in line with the current ISO Quality and Environmental standard
- To respond to customers both internal and external in a courteous and helpful manner
- To ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored in the appropriate manner
- To ensure that all paperwork is completed fully and in accordance to the deadline
- To undertake any duty that may be properly deemed by the supervisor to be part of the role of a street lighting operative
- To undertake emergency, call out as directed within working hours and outside working hours on a rota system
- To update inventory information of assets using PDA’s/Tablet/Paper format
- Daily vehicle checks are undertaken, and the vehicle is kept clean and tidy
- To ensure members of the public are kept informed of works and are not put in any danger due to works being undertaken
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Current valid driving licence
- Experience of working on the highways
- Experience of working with HIAB crane
Desirable:
- MEWP Category 1b (IPAF)
- HIAB crane operator
- G39 - Desirable
- First Aid at Work - Desirable
- NRSWA
- Manual Handling
- ECS Test
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Level 2 Electrical Qualification or Equivalent
- Previous street lighting experience
