Milestone Civils Projects division is currently looking to recruit a Site Agent to work with our Projects Team within the South East Region.
As a Site Agent you will be part of our South East Region Projects delivery team who are responsible for delivering a wide variety of exciting highways improvements schemes, civils projects and various frameworks including National Highways SDF Framework.
As the Site Agent your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Lead associated site team including Milestone supervision and subcontractors to successful completion of works
- Monitor site activities against target programmes reporting exceptions in outputs, delays etc.
- Ensure adequate records are maintained through site photographs, daily diaries and as built drawings.
- Carry out daily site briefings and supervise sub-contractor task briefings.
- Attend client meetings to provide them with a delivery update and manage any adverse issues.
- Write and maintain contract programme
- Formal communications to clients and subcontractors including but not limited to Early Warnings, and instructions.
- Assist in the tendering of works including evaluation and selection of sub-contract packages.
- Liaise with commercial team, designers and site teams to manage changes identified on site.
- Able to supervise night operations when required and provide a report to the Site Agent / Project Manager at the end of the shift
- Carryout site inductions, toolbox talks and briefings to site operatives
- Ensure adequate records are maintained through photographs, site diaries and as built drawings
- Carry out a public facing communication role on the project which includes attending Public Liaison meetings, communication with and keeping a log of public communications, interfacing with the Client customer liaison team.
- Communicate effectively with the MI Site Team and Engineer to ensure the works are planned in line with the agreed programme.
- Be willing to work nights and/or away from home for short periods were required.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Possession of SMSTS
- CSCS (supervisor card)
- Driving license
- Demonstrable experience of supervising Highway improvement and public realm work.
- A good level of experience in civil engineering and workforce supervision including earthworks, drainage, structures, and Highways
- A good level of commercial acumen to facilitate cost control.
- Effective team management, leadership and influencing skills to get the best from everyone.
- Experience of working on NEC3 and NEC4 contracts including the mechanisms for notifications.
