About The Role

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our Milestone Infrastructure Projects Team onsite at Hinkley Point. In this role you will provide commercial support for our Project, working closely with the operational team.

You’ll be responsible for:

Optimisation of the commercial return on a section or whole project
Controlling cost, value, cash management, change and risk on a section or whole project
Timely detailed reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor
Assisting with the development of junior commercial staff 
Timely procurement of subcontractors in accordance with company procedures
Contribution towards continued improvement within the business.
Production of robust records
Produce accurate measures of completed works
Ensure prompt payment requests as soon as works are completed
Accurate and timely completion of cost/value reports
Sub-contract costs pro-actively controlled

We’re looking for:

Ideally chartered status but as a minimum a degree/HND in Quantity Surveying or other relevant subject
Relevant CSCS card
Strong level of identifiable commercial experience within the construction industry 
Skilled negotiator and communicator
Good organisational skills
Demonstrable Highway Maintenance and Civil Engineering experience
Good knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts 
IT proficient, particularly in MS Office / Document Management Systems / Finance Systems
