About The Role

Milestone Infrastructure are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to provide Quantity Surveying assistance to the Commercial Manger and Operational team on the Surrey Street Lighting suite of projects based in Guildford. This role offers the opportunity to develop your career in Quantity Surveying

Key Responsibilities:

 To prepare and maintain Commercial data for use in the management of street lighting installation, maintenance and repair comprising of:

  • Ensuring External works data records are kept up to date and accurate
  • Raise external Payment requests and track cash receipts
  • Preparation of Subcontract Applications for Payment
  • Procurement & Management of minor Subcontract packages
  • Liaise with Finance, subcontract and other company departments to ensure good communication is maintained
  • Assisting in the production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reporting process
  • Assisting in the production of twice yearly forecast reports
  • Reconciliation of weekly productivity figures against Budget Forecasts to produce Client reports
  • Measurement and quantities for interim valuations (client and sub-contractors)
  • Become/Increase competence in commercial procedures, systems, cost control, variations of contract conditions.
  • Ad hoc duties as job requires.

Knowledge and experience

  • 5 GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths and English 
  • IT proficient, particularly in MS Office
  • Good command and communication of oral and written English
  • Previous commercial experience preferable
